Snapdragon (Antirrhinum cirrhigerum) belongs to the Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to the western and south-western Iberian Peninsula and Morocco. This herb grows in sandy sites near the coast, and up to 80 cm in height. The stem is erect or prostrate, very branched, and woody at base. The leaves are entire, linear-lanceolate, opposite lower and upper alternates. The flowers are pink or purple, tubular and snapdragon-like, and bloom April to July. The fruit is an oblong capsule. It is a kind of Snapdragon that is grown in flower beds etc.
