スカンジナビア山地やアルプス、アペニン山脈に分布しています。標高１８００メートル未満の、乾燥した岩礫地や石灰岩質の放牧地に生え、高さは２０〜５０センチになります。葉は線形で、全部が根生します。５月から７月ほど、緩やかな総状花序に、星形の白色の花を咲かせます。

ユリ科アンテリクム属の多年草で、学名は Anthericum liliago。英名は Saint Bernard's lily。

Saint Bernard's lily (Anthericum liliago) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to the Scandinavia mountains, the Alps and the Apennines. This herb grows in dry rocks and pastures over limestone, to 1800 m elavation, and can reach 20-50 cm in height. The leaves are all basal and linear. The starry white flowers bloom in the loose racemes from May to July.
