世界の各地に広く分布しています。池沼や河川に生息し、１０００種以上があるとされます。藻体は円筒状の細胞が横一列に並んだ糸状で、分岐しません。それぞれの細胞には、帯状らせん形の葉緑素があります。 |

ホシミドロ科アオミドロ属の緑藻類で、学名は Spirogyra sp.（属の総称）。英名は Spirogyra。 |

The Spirogyra (Spirogyra sp.) belongs to the family Zygnemataceae. It is a green alga that is distributed worldwide. This alga grows in ponds or streams and consists up to 1000 species. The alga body is filaceous and unbranched. Each cells are cylindrical and contain zonal spiral-shaped chlorophylls. |
