The Sea oak (Eisenia bicyclis) belongs to the family Laminariaceae. It is a perennial brown algae that is distributed from the northern part to the central part of the Pacific coast of Honshu in Japan, the southern part of the coast of the Sea of Japan, and Jeju Island. It grows in reef areas, forms large communities, and can reach 1 to 3 m in height. It attaches to the rock with a root-like appressorium, and the tip of one stem splits into two branches after the second year and has many thalli. There are wrinkles on the surface of the thallus, and the lateral leaf branches to attach the secondary lateral leaf. Probably edible for a long time.
