あらげなつはぜ (粗毛夏黄櫨) [Index] [Back] わが国の本州、福井県以西の日本海側から九州北部に分布しています。山地に生え、高さは１〜２メートルほどになります。葉は広楕円形で先端は短く尖り、互生します。葉の全縁で、縁に粗い毛が生えます。また葉の裏面の葉脈上や、若い枝に斜上する粗毛が密生します。５月から６月ごろ、新枝の先に総状花序をだし、下向きに多数の白い花を咲かせます。花冠は鐘形で浅く５裂し、やや反り返ります。果実は球形の液果で、１０月ごろに濃い藍色に熟して粉白を帯び、食べることがでます。  ツツジ科スノキ属の落葉低木で、学名は Vaccinium ciliatum。英名はありません。  The "Arage-natsu-haze" (Vaccinium ciliatum) belongs to Ericaceae (the Azalea family). It is a small deciduous tree that is distributed from the Sea of Japan west of Fukui Prefecture of Honshu to northern Kyushu. It grows in mountainous areas and is 1-2 m tall. The leaves are broadly elliptic with short, pointed tips and grow in alternate arrangements. The entire leaf is margined with coarse hairs. From May to June, it produces racemes at the ends of new branches, which produce numerous downward-facing white flowers. The corolla is bell-shaped, lobed, and slightly recurved.
