The Twining snapdragon (Asarina scandens) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Mexico. This herb climbs up adjascent plants by tendril-like petioles and peduncles, and can reach 1.8-2.4 m in height. The leaves are bright green, heart to arrow-shaped, and arrranged in alternate. The flowers are tubular, snapdragon-like, dark purple with white throats, and bloom from early summer to fall. The terrestrials are blighted in winter.
