ヨーロッパが原産です。アルプスやアペニン山脈、バルカン山脈、カルパチア山脈に分布しています。標高９００〜２８００メートルの草地などに生え、高さは１５〜２０センチになります。葉は、ほぼ円形からさじ形、楕円形で全縁です。５月から６月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして白い頭花を咲かせます。

キク科シオン属の多年草で、学名は Aster bellidiastrum (syn. Bellidiastrum michelii)。英名はありません。

The Aster bellidiastrum belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe, and distributed from the Alps, the Apennines, the Balkan and the Carpathians mountains. This herb grows in montane grasslands 900-2800 m elevation and can reach 15-20 cm in height. The leaves are suborbiculate, spathulate to elliptic and entire. The white flowerheads come in May to June.
