ドイツで改良されたアレンジー系の園芸品種群です。ゲオルグ・アレンズによって、中国原産の「おおちだけさし（大乳茸刺）」と日本原産の「あわもりしょうま（泡盛升麻）」、「ちだけさし（乳茸刺）」、「あかしょうま（赤升麻）」などを交配してできた品種群で、１９０８年に発表されました。高さは４０〜８０センチほどになり、６月から７月ごろ、円錐花序にごく小さな花をいっぱい咲かせます。花色は白色や赤色、ピンク色などの淡いパステルカラーです。別名で「あわもりそう（泡盛草）」とも呼ばれます。 |

The Astilbe (Astilbe x arendsi) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is a group of horticultural varieties of the Arendsii family improved in Germany. This group of varieties was created by Georg Arens (1863-1952) in 1908 by crossing the "Oo-chidake-sashi" (Astilbe chinensis) native to China with the "Awamori-shoma" (Astilbe japonica), "Chidake-sashi" (Astilbe microphylla), and "Aka-shoma" (Astilbe thunbergii var. thunbergii) varieties native to Japan. It grows 40 to 80 cm tall and produces a panicle full of very small flowers from June to July. The flowers are pale pastel colors such as white, red, and pink. It is also known as "Awamori-so" in Japan. |
