えびがらいちご (海老殻苺)

わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国に分布しています。ヨーロッパや北アメリカでは観賞用として導入されました。山地の林縁や草地に生え、高さは１〜１．５メートルになります。茎や葉柄、萼などに赤褐色の長い腺毛が生えているのが特徴です。葉は３出複葉で互生し、小葉は広卵形です。葉の裏には白い綿毛が密生しています。６月から７月ごろ、枝先の円錐花序に白色から淡い紅紫色の花を咲かせます。果実は赤く熟して食用になります。別名で「うらじろいちご（裏白苺）」とも呼ばれます。 |

バラ科キイチゴ属の落葉低木で、学名は Rubus phoenicolasius。英名は Japanese wineberry、Wine raspberry。 |

Japanese wineberry (Rubus phoenicolasius) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small deciduous tree that is distributed throughout Japan, as well as the Korean Peninsula and China. It was introduced to Europe and North America as an ornamental plant. This tree grows in montane forest edges or grasslands, and can reach 1-1.5 m in height. It is defined that the stems, petioles and calyces are covered with reddish brown, long, glandular hairs. The leaves are trifoliate with broad ovate leaflets, and arranged alternately. The abaxial sides of leaves are covered with dense white wooly hairs. The white to pale magenta flowers bloom in the terminal panicles from June to July. The fruits ripen red and they are edible. |
