メキシコ南部のチアパス州が原産です。ロゼットは緩やかで、高さ１５センチ、直径２５センチほどになります。明るい緑色の葉はほとんど円形で、冬には淡い紅色を帯びます。冬に長い花茎を伸ばして、ピンク色の花を咲かせます。園芸上は「しものつる（霜の鶴）」と呼ばれます。

ベンケイソウ科エケベリア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Echeveria pallida。英名はありません。

The Echeveria pallida belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico. The rosette is loose and grows to a height of 15 cm and a diameter of 25 cm. The bright green leaves are almost circular and turn pale red in winter. Long flower stalks grow in winter and produce pink flowers. Horticulturally, it is called "霜の鶴" (Shimono-tsuru) in Japan.
