It grows in deserts and dry shrubland, and is about 20 cm tall. The leaves are fleshy, pale gray-green, and spatulate-shaped, with a red border. In winter, it goes into a dormant period, and in spring, it produces bright yellow flowers on reddish arched stems. The specific epithet is named after the discoverer, Sr. Pulido.
