南アメリカのペルー北部と中央部に分布しています。標高４００〜１２００メートルの山地に生える着生植物で、高さは３０〜４５センチになります。茎は直立し、杖のような円筒形です。葉は狭い楕円形で先端が尖ります。晩秋から冬にかけて、茎頂に円錐花序をだし、黄緑色と白色の花を咲かせます。花被片（花弁と萼片）が黄緑色、唇弁は白色で紫色の脈が入ります。種小名はラテン語で「多花（floribundus）」に因みます。

The Epidendrum floribundum belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is found in northern and central Peru in South America. It is an epiphyte that grows in the mountains at elevations of 400 to 1200 m and grows 30-45 cm tall. The stem is erect and cylindrical like a cane. The leaves are narrowly elliptic with pointed tips. From late fall to winter, the plant produces a panicle at the top of the stem, which produces yellow-green and white flowers. The perianth segments (petals and sepals) are yellowish green, and the labellum is white with purple veining. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word "floribundus", meaning "full of flowers".
