The Bridal heath (Erica bauera) belongs to Ericaceae (the Azalea family). It is an evergreen shrublet that is distributed in the Cape region of South Africa. It grows in dry subtropical biomes and can reach a height of about 1 m. The stem is erect with thin branches. The leaves are small, linear, 3-5 mm long, slightly fleshy, and arranged in 4-wholed. White to pale pink tubular flowers bloom in bunches at the ends of the branches from spring to fall. The corolla is usually more than 12 mm long. Horticultural varieties have also been produced.
