北アメリカの西部、アラスカ州からコロラド州、カリフォルニア州にかけて分布しています。山地の草原や斜面に生え、高さは１０〜４５センチになります。葉は披針形からさじ形で、無毛かわずかに毛があります。夏を通じて、ひとつの花序に１〜４個の頭花を咲かせます。頭花には、黄色い中心花と、１００個以上の紫色かがったまたは白色の舌状花の縁飾りがあります。

キク科ムカシヨモギ属の多年草で、学名は Erigeron peregrinus。英名は Subalpine fleabane。

The Subalpine fleabane (Erigeron peregrinus) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to western North America; from Alaska to Colorado to California. This herb grows in mountain meadows and talus, and it can reach 10-45 cm in height. The leaves are lanceolate to spathulate, hairless or sparsely hairy. The one to four flower heads blooms in inflorescence through all summer. It has a a center of golden yellow disc florets and a fringe of up to 100 ray florets in shades of purple or white.
