The Storksbill (Erodium reichardii) belongs to Geraniaceae (the Geranium family). It is a perennial herb that is native to western Europe, from the Pyrenees to northern Spain. The leaves are kidney-shaped, creeping and spreading, and make a good groundcover. From June to September, it produces small reddish-purple flowers on extended flower stalks. The specific epithet is named after Johann Jacob Reichard (1742-1782), a German physician and botanist. The top and 2nd photos are a double-flowered garden variety, probably 'Roseum Plenum', and the 3rd and bottom photos are of 'Alba'.
