White fawnlily (Erythronium albidum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to eastern North America; from southern Quebec and southern Manitoba south to Georgia and Texas. This herb grows in deciduous woodlands and gentle slopes in wooded areas, and it can reach 10-15 cm in heght. The leaves are lanceolate, dark green and covered with a mottled pattern of purple blotches. The white, lily-like flowers bloom in mid to late spring. The collora consists of 6 white tepals, 6 stamens with long yellow anthers.
