エリスロニウム・モンタヌム [Index] [Back] 北アメリカの太平洋岸北西部に分布しています。湿り気のある亜高山帯の森林や、高山帯の草地などに生え、高さは１５〜２０センチになります。葉は緑色で斑点はなく、長楕円形から披針形で縁は波状、先端は尖ります。花は輝く白色で基部は黄色から橙黄色、数花のつく花序に、晩春から夏にかけて咲きます。 ユリ科カタクリ属の多年草で、学名は Erythronium montanum。英名は Avalanche lily。 Avalanche lily (Erythronium montanum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Pacific Northwest of North America. This herb grows in damp subalpine woodlands and alpine meadows, and it can reach 15-20 cm in height. The leaves are green, unmottled, oblong-lanceolate with undulating edges and sharply pointed tips.
