わが国の本州、富山県の固有種で、小豆島に分布する「みせばや（見せばや）」の変種とされています。熊野川流域の絶壁や崖に生え、高さは１０〜５０センチになります。葉は卵形で多肉質、２〜３個が集まってつきます。１０月から１１月ごろ、枝先に散房花序をだし、淡い紅色の花をいっぱい咲かせます。果実は袋果です。

ベンケイソウ科ムラサキベンケイソウ属の多年草で、学名は Hylotelephium sieboldii var. ettyuense。英名はありません。

"Ecchu-misebaya" (Hylotelephium sieboldii var. ettyuense) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an endemic species of Toyama prefecture of Honshu and a variety of "Misebaya" which grows in the Shodo-island. This herb grows on cliffs and bluffs in the reaches of Kumano-river, and it can reach 10-50 cm in height. The leaves are ovate, carnose and 2-3 in clusters. The corymbs are borne at the top branches, and bloom many pale rose pink flowers. The fruits are follicles.
