Hyssopleaf thoroughwort (Eupatorium hyssopifolium) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to central and eastern North America; from Massachusetts to Florida and Texas. This shrub grows in dry fields, and it can reach about 60 cm in height. The leavese are linear-lanceolate, sessile and arranged in opposite. The flowers are white, with disc florets and no ray florets, and bloom from August to September. The entire plant is applied externally as a remedy for the bites of reptiles and insects.
