エクスバリーアザレア [Index] [Back] イギリスのハンプシャー州にあるエクスバリーガーデンズで育種された園芸交配種です。これは「れんげつつじ」とヨーロッパや中国産落葉つつじとの交配で育成されました。ほとんどの植物は、高さが９０〜１５０センチになります。４月から６月ごろ、大きな漏斗状の花を咲かせます。花色は黄色やオレンジ系が中心ですが、赤色や白色、ピンク色などもあります。  ツツジ科ツツジ属の落葉小低木で、学名は Rhododendron sanctum var. lasiogynum。英名は Exbury azalea。  The Exbury azalea (Rhododendron sanctum var. lasiogynum) belongs to Ericaceae (the Azalea family). It is a deciduous shrub that is a horticultural hybrid bred at Exbury Gardens in Hampshire, England. This was cross-breeding of both Japanese azaleas and European and Chinese deciduous azaleas. Most plants can reach 90-150 cm in height. The large funnel-shaped flowers come in April to June.
