わが国の固有種です。北海道と青森県に分布しています。山地帯から亜高山帯の草地に生え、高さは３０〜５０センチほどになります。葉は奇数羽状複葉で互生します。５月から７月ごろ、茎の先に散房花序をつけ、淡い青紫色の花を咲かせます。

ハナシノブ科ハナシノブ属の多年草で、学名は Polemonium caeruleum ssp. yezoense。英名はありません。

"Ezono-hanashinobu" (Polemonium caeruleum ssp. yezoense) belongs to Polemoniaceae (the Phlox family). It is a perennial herb that is an endemic species of Japan. It is distributed in Hokkaido and Aomori Prefecture. THis herb grows in mountainous and subalpine grasslands, and up to a height of 30-50 cm. The leave are impari-pinnate and alternate. The corymbs are borne atop of stems and the pale purple flowers will bloom from May to July.
