東南アジアの熱帯地域に広く分布しています。地生または樹木に着生し、高さは１５〜３０センチほどになります。濃緑色で革質の葉はハート形で、黒い茎の先につきます。別名で「ハートファーン」とも呼ばれます。台湾華語では「澤瀉蕨」。

イノモトソウ科ヘミオニティス属の常緑シダ類で、学名は Hemionitis arifolia (syn. Parahemionitis arifolia)。英名は Heart fern。

The Heart fern (Hemionitis arifolia) belongs to the family Pteridaceae. It is an evergreen fern that is widely distributed in tropical areas of Southeast Asia. It grows on the ground or on trees and is 15 to 30 cm tall. The dark green, leathery leaves are heart-shaped and attached to the tips of black stems. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "澤瀉蕨".
