ヨーロッパが原産です。山地の岩の多い斜面などに生え、高さは25〜30センチになります。葉は狭披針形で、葉脈は目立ちます。6月から8月ごろ、茎頂に1個の黄色い頭花を咲かせます。
キク科オグルマ属の多年草で、学名は Inula ensifolia。英名は Swordleaf inula、Slender-leaved elecampagne。
Swordleaf inula (Inula ensifolia) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe. This herb grows in montane rocky slopes and can reach 25-30 cm in height. The leaves are narrowly lanceolate with distinct veins. The yellow flower-head about 4 cm across is borne solitary on the stem apices from June to August.
