The Crest-rib morning glory (Ipomoea costellata) belongs to Convolvulaceae (the Morning glory family). It is an annual herb that is distributed from Arizona to the western and southern parts of Texas in the United States, as well as in Guatemala. It grows in dry shrubland and rocky areas, creeping along the ground or twining around other plants, and can grow to a length of around 2 m. The leaves are deeply palmately divided, with 5 to 9 linear, linear-lanceolate to oblanceolate lobes. Pale lavender to pink flowers bloom from July to October. The corolla is about 15 mm in diameter. The fruit is a spherical capsule divided into two chambers.
