メキシコの固有種で、中西部のナヤリト州とミチョアカン州に分布しています。まつ・かし林に生えます。茎は細長く、反り返った赤紫色の毛に被われています。葉は卵形からほこ形で３裂し、長さは６〜１５センチです。花は淡いピンク色の漏斗形で、直径は７〜９センチ、花柄の先に２〜７個つきます。花は一日花で、冬に咲きます。

Ipomoea lambii belongs to Convolvulaceae (the Bindweed family). It is an annual herb that is endemic to central-western Mexico; Nayarit and Michoacan. This herb grows in pine-oak forests. The stems are slender and covered with reflexed, magenta hairs. The leaves are ovate to hastate and trilobate 6-15 cm long. The flowers are pale pink, funnel-shaped about 7-9 cm across and the 2-7 flowers crowd on the peduncles. They bloom in winter and last one day.
