トルコが原産の球根植物です。矮性で、高さは１０〜１５センチほどにしかなりません。３月から４月のはじめ、鮮やかな黄色い花を咲かせます。花には甘い香りがあります。葉は細長く、花後に伸びますが、春の終わりには枯れて休眠します。

The Reticulata iris (Iris danfordiae) belongs to Iridaceae (the Iris family). It is a perennial herb that is bulbous plant is native to Turkey. It is dwarf, only 10-15 cm tall, and blooms in March or early April with bright yellow flowers. The flowers have a sweet fragrance. The leaves are long and slender and grow after flowering, but die back and go dormant in late spring.
