いそぎく (磯菊)

わが国の本州、関東地方南部から東海地方、伊豆諸島に分布しています。海岸の砂浜などに生え、高さは２０〜４０センチほどになります。葉は倒披針形で、裏面は白い毛に被われています。表面からは白い縁取りのように見えます。１０月から１１月ごろに、黄色い花を咲かせますが、頭花は管状花だけでできています。 |

キク科キク属の多年草で、学名は Chrysanthemum pacificum。英名は Ajania。 |

Ajania (Chrysanthemum pacificum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed westward from southern Kanto district to Tokai district of Honshu and the Izu Islands. This herb grows in sandy beaches and can reach 20-40 cm in height. The leaves are oblanceolate and covered with white hairs on the abaxial sides. They look like outlining on the surface. The yellow flower-heads come in October and November. They are consist only of tubular flowers. |
