Turkey tangle frogfruit (Lippia nodiflora) belongs to Verbenaceae (the Verbena family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed westward from Honshu to Shikoku, Kyushu of Japan, Australia, North and South America. This herb grows in coastal gravelly beaches and rocky places, crawl on the grounds and can reach about 7 cm in height. The leaves are obovate, thick and arranged in opposite. The spikes are borne on the axils and the small, pale purple flowers bloom from July to October.
