"Iwa-uchiwa" (Shortia uniflora var. kantoensis) belongs to the family Diapensiaceae. It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native northward from Kinki district to Tohoku district of Honshu, Japan. This herb grows in montane forests and rocky places. The leaves are round to broad-round with cordate bases. The pale rose-pink flowers come on tha stalks from April to May.
