"Iwagane-zenmai" (Coniogramme intermedia) belongs to the family Parkeriaceae. It is an evergreen fern that is distributed throughout Japan, Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula, China, the Indochina Peninsula, and India. It grows on the forest floor in mountainous areas and grows 70 to 140 cm tall. The rhizome is short and creeps on the ground, and the leaves are once or twice pinnate compound. The tips of the pinnae are pointed like tails, and the veins are branched once or twice, without reticulation near the main veins. The sorus (sorus of sporangia) is linear along the veins. It is called "‰Ø–P—¹˜n" in Taiwanese Huayu and "•’Ê–P—¹˜n" (pu tong feng liao jue) in Chinese.
