Dancing lady orchid (Oncidium maculatum) belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen herb that is native from Mexico to Central America. This orchid is a epiphyte, and grows in open dry forests, deciduous tropical forests, and can reach up to 38 cm in height. The pseudobulb is ovate and bears 2-3 apical, oblong-linear and coriaceous leaves. The greenish-yellow with dark red spots flowers bloom in late winter and early spring. They are long-lasting and perfumed.
