From around July to August, it produces a corymbose inflorescence at the stem apex, bearing pale pink to white flowers. The flowers consist of a central hermaphroditic flower surrounded by two neutral flowers, each with two sepals. The fruit is a nearly spherical capsule. It is classified as Vulnerable (VU) in the Ministry of the Environment's Red List. It is called "草綉球" (cao xiu qiu) in Chinese.
