The Sweet cow parsnip (Heracleum dulce) belongs to Apiaceae (the Carrot family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from the mountainous to subalpine zones of Honshu north of Hyonosen in Tottori Prefecture and Hokkaido in Japan This herb grows in forest edges and fields, the stem is mid-air and can reach about 1 m in height. The leaves are quatri-pinnnate or quinquies-pinnate compound with long petioles. The compound umbels are borne atop of stems or branches and the white flowers bloom abundantly from June to August. The central flowers are an actinomorphic flower and the peripheral flowers are larger than central flowers and unequal in length of petals.
