"Oo-kujaku-shida" (Dryopteris dickinsii) belongs to the family Dryopteridaceae. It is an evergreen fern that is native throughout Japan, the Korean Peninsula and China. This fern grows in swamps and along ponds on low mountain to mountain, and it can reach about 80 cm in height. The leaves are ob-lanceolate, yellow-green and thickish papery. The pinnae are deltoid-linear, 20-30 pairs and lobed to cleft. The petioles are 10-20 cm long, and the scales are pale brown to pale bark on the lower stalked. The sori are scattered along the periphery of pinnae.
