わが国の本州、中部地方以北から北海道それにサハリンに分布しています。亜高山帯から高山帯の林内に生え、高さは５０〜１００センチになります。茎は途中で分枝し、卵形の葉が茎を抱きます。６月ら８月ごろ、葉腋から長い花柄を伸ばして緑白色の花を下垂して咲かせます。花被片は６個で、外側に反り返ります。液果は楕円形で、真っ赤に熟します。

ユリ科タケシマラン属の多年草で、学名は Streptopus amplexifolius var. papillatus。英名は Claspleaf twistedstalk。

The Claspleaf twistedstalk (Streptopus amplexifolius var. papillatus) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Chubu regions of Honshu north to Hokkaido in Japan and Sakhalin. It grows in subalpine to alpine forests and grows 50 to 100 cm tall. From June to August, long flower stalks extend from the leaf axils and produce drooping greenish-white flowers. It has six tepals, which turn outward. The berries are elliptic and ripen to bright red.
