オトンナ・カペンシス (黄花新月) [Index] [Back] 南アフリカ、リトル・カルー、そして東ケープの海岸からそれほど遠くないところに、ウイテンハゲまでが原産です。乾燥した岩場の平地に密に群生し、高さは１０センチほどになります。葉は多肉質で青緑色、長さ２．５センチのピクルス型です。小さなデージーに似た花を咲かせます。干ばつのストレスがかかると、葉はしばしば赤紫色になります。流通名では「黄花新月（きばなしんげつ）」と呼ばれます。  キク科オトンナ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Othonna capensis。英名は Little pickles。  The little pickles (Othonna capensis) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to South Africa; Little Karoo and also not very far from the coast in the Eastern Cape to about Uitenhage. This herb grows in dense clumps on dry rocky flats, and can reach about 10 cm in height. The leaves are succulent, blue-green, 2.5 cm long, and pickle-shaped. It will bloom small daisy like flowers.
