「さわら（椹）」の園芸品種で、広円錐形の樹形となります。横枝は四方に開出し、細長く枝垂れます。葉は黄色の鱗状です。ふつう剪定して低木に仕立てられ、庭園や公園に広く植栽されています。別名で「おうごんひよくひば（黄金比翼檜葉）」とも呼ばれます。

The Golden threadleaf false cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera cv. Filifera Aurea) belongs to Cupressaceae (the Cypress family). It is a small evergreen tree that is a cultivar of Sawara cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera). It has a broad conical shape. The lateral branches spread out in all directions and hang down in slender, drooping clusters. The leaves are yellow and scale-like. It is typically pruned to form a shrub and is widely planted in gardens and parks. It is also known by the alternative name "Ougon-hiyoku-hiba".
