わが国の本州から九州、それに朝鮮半島や中国に分布しています。「おにゆり（鬼百合）」の変種です。古い時代に朝鮮半島から渡来したものと考えられています。田の畦などに生え、高さは１〜２メートルになります。葉は披針形で互生します。７月から８月ごろ、鮮やかな黄色に赤色の斑点がある花を咲かせます。葉腋には珠芽（むかご）をつけます。

The golden tiger lily (Lilium lancifolium var. flaviflorum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to Honshu and Kyushu, as well as the Korean Peninsula and China. It is a variety of "Tiger lily". It is thought to be introduced into Japan via the Korean Peninsula in ancient days. This herb grows on rice field linches and can reach 1-2 m in height. The leaves are lanceolate and arranged in alternate. The bright yellow with red mottles flowers bloom from July to August. The propagules are borne on the axils.
