わが国の長崎県対馬に分布する固有種です。現在では、野生の「おうごんおにゆり」は絶滅したと考えられています。高さは１〜２メートルになります。葉は披針形で互生します。７月から８月ごろ、鮮やかな黄色に赤色の斑点がある花を咲かせます。葉腋には珠芽（むかご）をつけます。

The Golden tiger lily (Lilium lancifolium var. flaviflorum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is an endemic species distributed on Tsushima Island in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. Wild golden tiger lilies are now considered extinct. They grow to a height of 1 to 2 m. The leaves are lanceolate and alternate. From July to August, they bloom with bright yellow flowers featuring red spots. They produce bulbil in the leaf axils.
