おうしゅうひれあざみ (欧州鰭薊) [Index] [Back] ヨーロッパからアジアが原産です。草地や荒地、生け垣などに生え、高さは１．５メートルほどになります。茎にはわずかに白い毛が生え、棘があります。葉は羽状に分裂し、長くて弱い棘があります。葉は裏面の葉脈を除いて、無毛です。６月から９月ごろ、茎頂に直径２０〜２５ミリの赤紫色の頭花を咲かせます。総苞片は直立または横に広がり、細長く、先端が尖っています。 キク科ヒレアザミ属の二年草で、学名は Carduus acanthoides。英名は Spiny plumeless thistle、Welted thistle。 The Spiny plumeless thistle (Carduus acanthoides) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a biennial herb that is native to Europe and Asia. It grows in grasslands, wastelands, and along hedgerows, reaching a height of about 1.5 m. The stems are covered with fine white hairs and have spines. The leaves are pinnately lobed and bear long, weak spines. The leaves are hairless, except for the veins on the underside. From June to September, reddish-purple capitula 20-25 mm in diameter bloom at the tips of the stems.
