南アフリカが原産です。鱗茎は長さ１０〜２０ミリほどで、茎にはいくつかの褐色の茎を抱く鱗片があります。葉は鳥足状複葉で、狭長楕円形から線形の小葉が４〜７個つきます。９月から１１月ごろ、直径２５ミリほどの鮮黄色の花を咲かせます。ときおり花弁の縁が紫色を帯びます。 |

The Oxalis flava belongs to Oxalidaceae (the Wood sorrel family). It is a perennial herb that is native to South Africa. The bulbs are about 10 to 20 mm long, and the stem has several brown, stem-enfolded scales. It has pedately compound leaves with 4 to 7 narrowly oblong to linear leaflets. 25 mm diameter, bright yellow flowers bloom from September to November. The edges of the petals are sometimes tinged with purple. |
