南アメリカのペルーが原産です。塊根があり、高さは２０〜３０センチになります。茎は短く、多肉質で膨れた葉柄の先に、小さな三小葉をつけます。乾燥した環境では葉を落とします。春から夏にかけて、黄色い花を咲かせます。

カタバミ科カタバミ属の半常緑多年草で、学名は Oxalis herrerae (syn. Oxalis teneriensis)。英名は Succulent oxalis。

The Succulent oxalis (Oxalis herrerae) belongs to Oxalidaceae (the Wood sorrel family). It is a semi-evergreen perennial herb that is native to Peru in South America. It has caudex and grows 20 to 30 cm tall. It has short stems with small three-lobed leaves at the end of fleshy, swollen petioles. The leaves drop off in dry environments. Yellow flowers bloom from spring to summer.
