わが国の固有種で、本州の中部地方以北から東北地方南部に分布しています。亜高山帯から高山帯の草地や林縁などに生え、高さは２０〜６０センチになります。葉は広披針形から狭卵形で対生し、裏面は粉白を帯びます。８月から９月ごろ、茎の先近くの葉腋に、青紫色の花を咲かせます。花冠は浅く５裂して、全開はしません。和名は、「白山（御山）」に因みます。 |

リンドウ科リンドウ属の多年草で、学名は Gentiana makinoi。英名はありません。 |

The "Oyama-rindou" (Gentiana makinoi) belongs to Gentianaceae (the Gentian family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Japan and distributed northward from Chubu district to southern Tohoku district of Honshu. This herb grows in sub-alpine to alpine grasslands or forest edges and can reach 20-60 cm in height. The leaves are broad lanceolate to narrow ovate and opposite with powdery white reverse sides. The bluish-purple flowers bloom in upper axils from August to Septembar. The corolla are quintuple-lobate shallowly at the tips and does not fully open. The Japanese name is derived from "Mt. Hakusan" (Mt. Oyama). |
