わが国の各地をはじめ、台湾や朝鮮半島、中国それに東南アジアやミクロネシアに分布しています。茎には４稜があり、地面を這って広がります。葉は卵形で粗い鋸歯があります。８月から１０月ごろ、葉腋から長い花柄をだして、小さな淡紫色の唇形花を咲かせます。和名は、果実が「まくわうり」に似ていることから。台湾華語では「藍豬耳」、中国語では「母草（mu cao）」と呼ばれます。 |

The False pimpernel (Lindernia crustacea) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is an annual herb that is distributed to Japan, Taiwan, the Korean Penninsula, China, Southeast Asia and Micronesia. The stems are quadrangular and spread by creeping on the grounds. The leaves are ovate with coarsely-toothed margins. The small pale purple labiate flowers bloom on the long peduncles from August to October. The Japanese name "Uri-kusa" is named for the fruits similar to "Makuwa-uri" (Cucumis melo var. makuwa). In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "藍豬耳", and "母草" (mu cao). |
