ブラジル南東部のリオデジャネイロ州に分布しています。標高８００〜２２００メートルの湿地に生え、高さは１２０センチほどになります。「みみかきぐさ（耳掻草）」の仲間で、「ブロメリア」などに着生します。葉は「はす（蓮）」に似た円形です。長い花茎を伸ばして、薄紫色の花を咲かせます。種小名は、ラテン語で「蓮（nelumbo）」＋「葉（folia）」に因みます。

The Utricularia nelumbifolia belongs to Lentibulariaceae (the Bladderwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in the state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil. It grows in marshy areas at elevations of 800 to 2200 m and grows to a height of about 120 cm. It is a member of the "bladderwort" family and grows on "bromeliads" and other plants. The leaves are circular, similar to those of the lotus. It grows long flower stalks and produces light purple flowers. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words "nelumbo" (lotus) + "folia" (leaf).
