南アフリカに分布しています。山地の湿った岩場などに生え、高さは１５センチほどになります。根茎を地中に這わせ、捕虫嚢をつける食虫植物です。葉は小さな倒卵形です。一年を通して、ウサギの顔のような淡い藤色の花を咲かせます。園芸上は「うさぎごけ（兎苔）」と呼ばれます。

The Bladderwort (Utricularia sandersonii) belongs to Lentibulariaceae (the Bladderwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in South Africa. It grows on moist rocks in mountainous areas and grows to a height of about 15 cm. It is an insectivorous plant with rhizomes that creep into the ground and attach an insect-collecting sac. The leaves are small and obovate. It produces pale wisteria-colored flowers resembling the face of a rabbit throughout the year. Horticulturally, it is called "Usagi-goke" (rabbit moss) in Japan.
