The Yellow rabbitgrush (Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed over much of the western United States and western Canada. It grows in forests, floodplains, and pastures, and is 30 to 120 cm tall. The stem branches well from the base. The leaves are thread-like or narrow and oblong, and are sticky. From early summer to fall, small yellow flower heads bloom in a circular inflorescence at the top of the stem. These flowers are an important source of nectar.
