南アフリカのケープ地方にあるセダーバーグ山脈が原産です。おもに亜熱帯バイオームに生え、高さは３０〜４０センチになります。葉は披針形で中肋があり、長さは１０〜１８センチになります。春、短い花茎をだして芳香のある薄紫色の花を咲かせます。花被片には大きな白い斑があります。

アヤメ科ホザキアヤメ属の多年草で、学名は Babiana cedarbergensis。英名はありません。

The Babiana cedarbergensis belongs to Iridaceae (the Iris family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Cederberg Mountains in the Cape region of South Africa. It grows mainly in subtropical biomes and is 30-40 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate with a midrib and are 10-18 cm long. In spring, it produces short flower stalks and produces fragrant, light-purple flowers. The perianth segments have large white spots.
