ばんとう (蟠桃) [Index] [Back] 「もも」の仲間の一種です。４月にピンク色の花が咲き、８月下旬に果実が熟します。果皮は紅色と黄色、果肉は橙黄色で、ふつうの「もも」より美味しいものです。 バラ科サクラ属の落葉小高木で、学名は Prunus persica。 英名は Flat peach。 The flat peach (Prunus persica) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a semi-tall deciduous tree that is one kind of the peach family. The pink flowers come in April and the fruits ripen late August.
