Prunus persica
中国の北・中部が原産の「もも」の仲間の一種です。４月にピンク色の花が咲き、８月下旬に果実が熟します。果皮は紅色と黄色、果肉は橙黄色で、ふつうの「もも」より美味しいものです。
バラ科サクラ属の落葉小高木で、学名は Prunus persica (syn. Prunus persica var. compressa)。英名は Flat peach。
The Flat peach (Prunus persica) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a semi-tall deciduous tree that is a member of the "peach" family, which is native to northern and central China. The pink flowers come in April and the fruits ripen late August. The flat peach have rose-pink and yellow skin, and orange-yellow flesh, and are more delicious than other ordinary peaches.
