アラビア半島が原産です。主に砂漠や乾燥した潅木帯に生え、高さ１メートルほどになります。葉は濃緑色で葉脈が目立ちます。茎の先の穂状花序に、白色の花を咲かせますが、花期が短いとのこと。詳細な情報は少ないようです。

キツネノマゴ科バルレリア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Barleria candida。英名はありません。

The Barleria candida belongs to Acanthaceae (the Acanthus family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to the Arabian Peninsula. It grows mainly in deserts and dry shrublands, reaching a height of about 1 m. The leaves are dark green with conspicuous veins. It produces white flowers in a spike at the end of the stem, but the flowering period is short. Detailed information seems to be scarce.
