ボウカルネア・ビゲロウィイ [Index] [Back] アメリカの南西部それにメキシコの北西部に分布しています。標高１５００メートル以上にある、非常に乾いた砂漠に生え、高さは４メートルほどになります。茎は高さ２メートルを超え、一部は地下にあります。葉は丈夫で細長く、ロゼット状につきます。長い樹状の花序に、小さな白色の花を咲かせます。 リュウゼツラン科トックリラン属の常緑高木で、学名は Beaucarnea bigelovii（syn. Nolina bigelovii）。英名は Beargrass、Bigelow's nolina。 Beargrass (Beaucarnea bigelovii) belongs to the family Agavaceae (the Agave family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. This herb grows in the driest desert areas and at elevations up to 1,500 m, and it can reach about 4 m in height. The stem may exceed 2 m in height, part of which may be underground. The leaves are stiff, shreddy, and arranged in rosettes.
